Speed and experience

33-year-old David Foré is the most-titled driver still in activity. He first got bitten by the kart bug at the age of 8, and was soon winning races in the Minikart series, the category for the youngest drivers. After numerous regional and national victories he achieved the coveted official team driver status. Displaying a rare blend of speed, experience and race technique, Davide helped Tony Kart to numerous Italian, European and Word titles, all at the highest level. You can be sure that whenever the Italian driver is on the starting gird he's one of the main contenders for victory. And that's the way it has been for the past 15 years!

An extraordinary record

With five world titles and a profusion of other honours, David Foré is one of the top five kart racing drivers of all times, in a sport that was invented 50 years ago. He became European champion in 1994 and won his first World championship title in 1998, and again in 2000 and 2004. The 2006 season was his best ever, one in which he fought off increasingly ferocious competition from aggressive younger rivals to take world championship crowns in two of the most hotly contested categories: Formula A (100cc) and Super ICC (125cc with gearbox).

Top level machines

After having spent so many years with Tony Kart, Davide Foré decided it was time for a new challenge, which he found in joining the official Maranello works team. The very name Maranello is steeped in motor racing history (it is Ferrari's home town) and the team provides the ideal platform for a driver of Foré's calibre. Set up by some of the karting world's most respected professionals, Maranello is a team of dedicated technicians, all of whom are as thirsty for victory as the driver. Not only does the five-times world champion have a very competitive chassis, he also has some of the best engines available anywhere. In the top KF1 category he'll be using Parilla engines from the famous Iame factory and in KZ1 and KZ2 (gearbox categories) he'll be running on Maxters. His reputation as a tester affords him special status with Bridgestone, the world famous Japanese tyre manufacturer, for whom he is an official test driver. Respect!

In the eye of the camera

Kart racing enjoys widespread TV coverage. Although it is a fully fledged motor sport in its own right, many kart drivers go on to make a career in auto racing and Formula One. All the championships in which Davide Foré takes part are shown on TV. Eurosport, the best known of the sports channels, covers all the World and European Championship events. The International Open Masters, which is the premier national championship, has a deal with Raisport-Sat, under which the finals will go out live during coverage lasting over an hour. Raisport-Sat will also be covering the WSK series in which Maranello and its star driver will also be racing. In addition, the Italian channel Teletutto puts out a monthly programme dedicated to karting, in which the exploits of Davide Foré receive regular exposure.
