Definitely Davide Forè could not miss one of the major events of the season. At the wheel of his Maranello-Maxter, the Italian driver improved his performances throughout this World KF1 Championship held in Italy, at Muro Leccese. After a fantastic race debut, he aimed at the second place on the third lap of the final and seemed ready for a new extraordinary result. Then, his kart lost some speed and Davide fought until the end to cross the finishing line in 5th position.

On the weekend of September 21, Davide Forè raced again on the La Conca circuit, where he had conquered one of his five world titles. He was certainly very keen on the idea of climbing again on the first step of the podium in Southern Italy. "With the Maranello Team, we finished the European Championship in excellent shape and when I arrived at La Conca, I felt very optimistic", Davide pointed out. "However, I knew that our rivals had taken advantage of the last few weeks to improve their performances, so I expected a very hard race”.

Davide was right, given that the first 20 drivers were grouped in less than five tenths of a second after timed qualifying. The Italian driver was 8th, before climbing two more ranks in the qualifying phase and another one in the pre-final. “Everything went smoothly up to the final. I managed well my three qualifying heats and I set the best lap in one of them. With my team, we found good technical solutions, as proven in the pre-final by my 5th place”.

He made an excellent start from the centre of the grid in the final and 4th on the first lap. He was already 3rd the following lap, then second after another lap. "I was just behind Ardigo, I was fully confident and I felt I had a chance". The rest of the race was more difficult. "As my tyres wore, the chassis balance slightly deteriorated and I did not want to run any risk with the carburettor, because I did not want to break the engine just to try and arrive with the leaders. Some drivers were faster than me in the end so I finished 5th, but I am glad I can add a place of honour to my list of victories".

Davide Fore: “I think I made a good World Championship, even if I would have liked to conquer another podium for my team and my partners. Anyway I was 5th in the final, the best performance for Maranello as well as fro Maxter drivers. If I look back at the results I achieved during the season, I think I can be pretty satisfied: winner of the World Cup for KF1, 3rd at the World Cup for KZ1, 4th at the European KF1 Championship and 5th at the World KF1 Championship, not to mention all the good performances during the WSK! My stable presence at the top proves that we have always been very competitive. This can only stimulate me to stay motivated in the future…”
